I have a few of the next chapters sitting in my cue just waiting for me to throw the final ideas on. Sorry for my failure. I will be posting soon[ish].
A Wrinkle in Time
The book was my first introduction in the world of Science-Fiction. It was recommended to my by one of the local librarians for a cross country trip my family was going on. Since I do not get car-sick I had planned on hours of reading while on the journey. I filled my favorite red bag with every book I could imagine. Including every book in the Wrinkle in Time saga. I will admit, "A Winkle in Time" is not my favorite book. It was my childhood version of a soap opera, or at least how people approach soap operas. I could not get enough of the characters. They fascinated me. I could place myself in the shoes of [most] all the characters and understand more of the story from their shoes. The story incorporated my favorite things, great characters and science. It was a marvelous combination as far as I was concerned. I went out of my way to read all the other stories written by Madeline E'Lengle. I was horrified to learn of her death, because she had shown me characters that had grown with me. The characters helped me grow and become an adult. I learned that it was alright to be strong and physical as a woman, but earning peoples respect is hard won, especially as a woman. I learned that even though families are very different, they still need to value one another. I learned so much about relationship and how to approach those around us
Many Waters
This is probably my favorite of all the E'Lengle books. It followed a biblical story that I was raised on as well as exploring fascinating theoretical scientific ideals [and some cute boys!] It is a sweet love story that is full of emotion and intriguing.
The rest of her stories hold a special place in my heart. They have greatly effected how I view the world and how I chose the books I read. I hope that many more individuals will discover her works upon the library shelves and discover the life that the books contain.
